The Bergere family has tended vines in Champagne and in the Valley of Petit Morin since 1848. In 1949, Albert Bergere started making his own wine and founded the Maison Bergere. Fast forward, in 2014, Adrien Bergere, a rising star in the world of Champagne, took over the family domain after completing his oenological studies.

Valle du Petit Morin is a less well known terroir- about 30 minutes south of Epernay- and a continuation of the Côte des Blancs with limestone soils.

They own vines in three different areas in Champagne, Côte du Sezanne- great Meunier terroir- Côte des Blancs- between the Grand Cru Villages of Avize and Oger- and in the Valle du Petit Morin where the family domain is based.

Cuvée Origine Brut- this cuvée represents the family's vineyards in the villages of Etoges, Fèrebrianges and Cogny- just about 10 minutes away from one another in the heart of the Valle du Petit Morin. Mainly Chardonnay, 70%, with Meunier and Pinot Noir, producing a beautiful, characterful and focused Champagne. Light white cherry notes, chalky minerality and light toast and brioche notes, met by balance and precision on the palate. There's about 30% reserve wine into the blend that adds complexity, depth and consistency. About 30% of the wine is aged in 228 liter barrels and spends about two years on the lees.
