Bowman Brothers Straight Bourbon

Bowman Brothers started by Abram Smith Bowman who had made a fortune running a bus company in Indiana. When he established his eponymous distillery in 1934, it was the only distillery in the State of Virginia. The original distillery was built in Reston, Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. 

Bowman's two sons, Smith and DeLong Bowman took over the distillery, and eventually moved it to Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1988. For the longest time, the only Bourbon they produced was "Virginia Gentleman," a stellar everyday Bourbon. 

In 2003, the Sazerac Company acquired them and moved production to Kentucky at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Now, the whiskey is double-distilled in Kentucky and then shipped to Virginia where it undergoes an additional distillation and then aged. 

Bowman Brothers Small Batch is made with corn, rye and malted barley. Great value Bourbon for sipping or mixing into your favorite cocktails. Light baked fruit notes, subtle vanilla and spice. On the palate is approachable and soft with dry finish. Not the most complex Bourbon you'll taste, but a good value for the money.
