Pouilly-Loche is a tiny commune in the Maconnais- in the southern part of Burgundy, France- borrowing the prefix of Pouilly from its famous neighbor, Pouilly-Fuisse.

Pouilly-Loche, just like its neighbors, produces white wines exclusively from Chardonnay.

Domaine Clos des Rocs takes its name from one of the single vineyards they own, Clos des Rocs, which is also a monopole, meaning that this domaine is the sole proprietor and therefore the only producer making wines from that vineyard site. Olivier Giroux runs the domaine organically, committed to make wines expressing their unique site.

The wine is aged in used barrels for about 13 months, lending a pale golden color. The nose is driven by crushed stone and earthy minerality. Green apple, lemon pith and apple blossoms dominate the nose with some light creamy quality due to the lees aging and light vanilla, toast notes from the oak aging. Fresher and bright on the palate with round texture and elevated acidity.
