Cornu-Camus, Pinot Noir, Pernard-Vergelesses, Burgundy, France 2023

Cornu-Camus is a small domaine based at the village of Echevronne in the northern part of the Cotes de Beaune. Pierre Cornu, and his wife, Bernadette Camus inherited their families’ vineyards and started their tiny domaine- just 10 hectare- in 1987. 

Now joined by their kids, they craft some delicious and well-priced Burgundies from these northern villages of the Cotes de Beaune, such as Pernard-Vergelesses, Chorey-les Beaune and Savigny-Les-Beaune. 

Light color concentration of ruby red color. The nose is restrained with earthy and mushroomy notes, framed by a pretty bouquet of red fruit showing delicate ripeness with notes of strawberry and cassis. The palate is fresher and elegant with soft, but persistent tannins.
