Querciabella's story starts in 1974 when entrepreneur Giuseppe "Pepito" Castiglioni acquired a small property overlooking Greve in Chianti, one of Chianti Classico's most important winemaking villages. Querciabella has become one of Tuscany's most important producers within a few short decades. Now the estate is run by Mita Castiglini, Pepito's eldest daughters and her children, Andrea and Selene.
The Estate has always been a big proponent of Sangiovese, but they also experiment with other grape varieties from Maremma, further south from Chianti Classico.
Mongrana is a blend of Vermentino with about 30% Viognier. Vermentino is becoming an important grape variety in Tuscany, especially in the coastal areas where it producers fresh, vibrant and minerally-driven wines. Viognier is richer and textured, offering
