Haus Alpenz is an importer of spirits, who started in the early 2000s. But, when we say spirits, we aren't talking about big conglomerates and beverages who take a full page advertisement in magazines; we are talking about small artisanal producers, such as Dolin Vermouth, Hayman's and Rotham & Winter, etc. In addition to spirits, they also focus mainly in fortified and aged wines from France, Spain and Portugal.
Saveiro, is a culmination of that passion, love for the long-lived, oxidative wines of Madeira. They collaborated with Enriques & Enriques, an historic property- and only one of the seven shippers in Madeira- to produce a wine aged in Chestnut Barrels as it used to be commonplace before oak barrels became the go-to vessel for aging and transporting wine.
Tinta Negra, the last to be added in Madeira's list of Noble Grapes, is the most planted grape variety on the island, producing pale colored wines.
Exclusively aged in Chestnut barrels, it is rich, sweet, and beautifully balanced with depth and intensity.
