Venetsanos winery is located in Magalochori, in the southwestern part of island, overlooking the Caldera, the dramatic cliff that marks Santorini's unique landscape.
The Venetsanos family established the winery in 1947, the first commercial winery to do so (according to them). The winery is gravity-fed, and essentially carved in the mountain. They own 15 ha of vines, mainly planted to Assyrtiko, Aidani, Athiri, Platani for the whites, Mavrotragano and Mandilari for the reds.
The highly competent, Christos Kanellakopoulos is the head winemaker.
In the Winery, stainless steel fermentation and aging on the fine lees for about 6 months before bottling.
